What is Electrical Conduction?

Electrical conduction represents the ability of a material to conduct electric charges.

Some materials are very good at it and are usually called conductors.
Some materials are hopeless at it and are called insulators.

Semiconductors (which could have been called semi-insulators) are not very good at it. But under some certain conditions, they can become (almost) conductors.

The properties of conductors, insulators and semiconductors depend on the structure and the electrical nature of atoms.
