A Natural Example of Refraction

Halos are natural phenomena: they are a ring of light in the sky.
Halos form when light coming from the moon or the sun is refracted or bent by ice crystals present in the atmosphere.

Halos are rare in this part of the world (Australia) but we experience refraction every day.
